Believing You Deserve Better: Letting Yourself Be Nourished

A young East Asian woman with soft brown hair sits by a window in early sunlight, gently holding a beige mug with both hands and eyes closed in peaceful reflection.
“This morning belongs to me.”

🪷 Believing You Deserve Better: Letting Yourself Be Nourished

Believing you deserve better isn’t selfish.
It’s honest.

You’ve settled before—
for less than what your heart whispered for.
For almost-enough.
For what seemed safe, but never full.

Maybe you accepted it because it felt familiar.
Maybe because it was all you knew.
Still, you’re allowed to want more—
not from greed,
but from truth.

Better isn’t asking for too much.
It’s remembering you were never meant to beg for scraps.
You were meant to be nourished.
And your worth never depended on how little you could survive with.

Why Believing You Deserve Better Still Matters

It’s easy to shrink your needs
so they fit someone else’s comfort.
However, healing asks you to expand into your full deserving.

Sometimes, that means saying no
to what used to feel like “enough.”

So pause and ask:
Where have I been accepting too little
just to feel safe or approved?

What would better actually feel like for me?
Even just imagining it—
is a return to self-worth.

Besides, your body often knows the answer
long before your mind is ready to receive it.

Try This Today

Write this sentence down:

“I am allowed to want more—and to receive it.”

Place it somewhere you’ll see often.
Let it remind you gently:
your needs are not too much.

One Last Thought

You don’t have to prove you deserve better.
You already do.
Even wanting more is a form of remembering.
