Day 29) You Are Allowed to Take Up Space

A young East Asian woman with soft features and long wavy hair sits peacefully in a warmly lit room, symbolizing quiet self-acceptance and emotional presence.
You don’t need to shrink to be loved. Take up space—with grace, with breath, and with your whole self.

Day 29: You Are Allowed to Take Up Space – Releasing the Fear of Being Too Much

You are allowed to take up space.
Not only in physical form, but in emotions, voice, and presence.
You never needed to be smaller to be accepted.

💬 “You’re not too much. You’ve just been taught to shrink.”

The Fear of Overflowing

I used to second-guess every word.
Each laugh was softened.
Every opinion was filtered.
Even my healing came with apologies.

Eventually, I realized the fear wasn’t mine alone.
It had been passed down, reinforced by moments of silence, dismissal, or discomfort from others.

Over time, I learned this truth:
Those who love you won’t ask you to disappear.

Expanding Without Apology

Nowadays, I show up in full form.
I speak even when it feels risky.
When I feel joy, I share it.
If I cry, I let the tears come freely.

This isn’t about seeking attention.
It’s about granting myself the right to live honestly.

Instead of shrinking, I root myself deeper.
Because I deserve to be seen, heard, and held.

🌿 A Grounding Tip

Stand upright and stretch your arms to the sides.
Take a deep breath and whisper:
“I belong here. I take up space with grace.”

✍️ Let’s Journal Together

  • In which situations do I shrink myself?

  • What stories taught me that I’m too much?

  • What would it feel like to show up fully in one space this week?

🕊 A Line to Remember

You take up space beautifully. There is room for all of you.
